Thought of this word a few weeks ago in a dream. It was weird, I just woke up with the definition in my head:
To give away the worth of something / someone to you in front of others by worrying about its / their state.
I don’t remember much about the dream at this point, except that it included some thriller-type scenario. The stakes were high, mistakes were made. And this one’s a classic in that setting, really.
Though there are plenty of other ways to publically express that you value something or someone, of course. Some of them might even be healthy, provided that noone in attendance is looking to screw you over.
What do you think about the word? Any good?
